  •  Sometimes people claim that pets give people psychological or physical help. What is your opinion?
  • Think of the positive and negative aspects of owning the following pets. Think of things like companionship, how easy it is to take care of, clean, and feed, and what potential use (if any) it has, how interested other people would be in it, etc.
    • a goldfish
    • a parrot
    • a rabbit
    • a large non-poisonous snake
    • a small poisonous snake
    • a large exotic spider
    • a white rat
    • a cat
    • a dog
    • a pig

LANGUAGE NOTES: Adjectives

- time-consuming: when something takes a long time to do
- rewarding: to feel satisfied because you have done something well
- unsuitable: to not acceptable or right for somebody or something (antonym: suitable)
- destructive: to cause damage
- faithful: loyal and always supporting somebody or something
- affectionate: to show feelings of liking somebody
-eager: to want to do or have something very much
- harmless: to dangerous in any way
- enthusiastic: to show a lot of interest in and excitement about something
- lucrative: a job or activity that earns you a lot of money
- rare: not common, unique
- fierce: physically aggerssive and frightening 
- outrageous: shocking and unacceptable
- weird: very strange and unusual, odd
- exotic: unusual and exciting and related to foreign countries
- addictive: an activity that is so enjoyable you don't want to stop
- impressed: to feel admiration or respect or somebody
